For publishers, editors & rights buyers

Find indie authors and inquire about book rights.

Storyteller Talent Agency represents authors across publishing, audio, translation, and screen opportunities. Acquiring editors can contact Kayla Bramante about represented authors and the specific rights they want to explore.

An acquisition starts with the right conversation.

Looking for a proven self-published book, an indie series with an established readership, or a represented author’s next project? Explore STA’s public roster and books, then ask about the exact work and rights. Public listings and past deals are not a live availability catalog.

Confirm scope

STA confirms whom it represents for the project and which rights it is authorized to discuss.

Request materials

Ask for the appropriate manuscript, presentation, sales context, or rights information through the agency. Private materials are shared only as appropriate.

Define the opportunity

Identify the intended license, territories, formats, and proposed terms so the author and agency can evaluate the opportunity.

International rights or an author with an offer?

Foreign acquiring editors and co-agents can use the foreign rights hub, foreign editor guidance, and co-agent information.

If an author is not represented by STA, we cannot license their rights. An author who wants to bring an agent into an existing offer can use the offer-in-hand representation path.

Questions & answers

How can an acquiring editor inquire about rights to an indie author’s book?

For authors represented by Storyteller Talent Agency, email kayla@storytellertalent.com with the author and title, publisher and imprint, professional role, requested rights, language, territory, formats, and timing. STA confirms its representation scope and current rights availability before discussing materials or terms.

Are all rights to books shown on this website available?

No. A client profile, book listing, deal announcement, or catalog entry is not a live rights-availability statement. Some rights may already be licensed, reserved, or handled elsewhere. Ask STA to confirm the exact title, format, language, territory, and representation scope.

Can publishers acquire print, digital, audio, or translation rights separately?

Potentially, depending on the author’s existing licenses and the rights STA is authorized to represent. Identify the specific rights you want rather than assuming that a general publishing inquiry includes every format or territory.

What if the indie author is not represented by STA?

STA cannot authorize a license for an author it does not represent. The author may contact Kayla to ask about representation, including when an offer is already in hand. Representation and authority to negotiate must be established separately.
