Statement of Clarification
Online Discussion Clarification
This statement addresses questions that may arise from online discussion, social media commentary, or third-party posts about Storyteller Talent Agency.
Storyteller Talent Agency understands that authors often research agents carefully before querying, and that online discussion can shape first impressions. We support authors doing due diligence. We also believe authors deserve direct, verifiable information from the agency itself.
Some online comments about Storyteller Talent Agency repeat assumptions, incomplete context, gossip, or claims that are not a factual record of the agency's representation practices. Storyteller Talent Agency has never charged an author to be represented, has never charged an author to be considered for representation, and will not do so.
Agency Model
Storyteller Talent Agency is a commission-based literary agency and has always operated on that basis for representation. The agency does not charge reading fees, submission fees, application fees, paid consideration fees, retainers, or upfront representation fees. Representation is selective and is offered only through a written agency agreement.
Agency Consideration Is Separate
Authors do not need to buy, attend, or participate in any workshop, course, consultation, edit, event, or author-support offering to query Storyteller Talent Agency. No author has been charged for representation or required to purchase anything in order to be considered. Participation in outside education or author-support programming does not guarantee, imply, influence, or improve the likelihood of literary representation.
What Authors Can Verify Directly
- Agent profiles and query status are published on the agency website.
- Query rules and submission instructions are published on the Queries pages.
- Representative deal activity is published on the Recent Deals page.
- Represented authors and books are published on the Authors and Books pages.
- Commission and fee clarification is published in the agency clarification statement and Terms of Service.
Storyteller Talent Agency will not respond publicly to anonymous commentary point by point. The agency's position is simple: authors should rely on agency materials, written agreements, public deal activity, and direct communication with the agency rather than unverified third-party speculation.
Authors with questions about the agency model, query consideration, representation terms, or the separation between agency representation and outside author-support offerings are welcome to review the agency's published clarification materials or contact the agency directly.
